Memory Cafe for both the care partner (caregiver) and the person in the early to early-moderate stage of NCD (dementia/Alzheimer's).  The person with the diagnosis should be able to communicate and participate in playing easy games or perhaps singing some old-timey songs. The care partner is required to attend along with the person with the diagnosis. This is the only Memory Cafe in Tarrant County but you can search the internet and find info about Memory Cafes in other cities to get an idea of what they do and what they are for.  The church provides the meeting space but this is not a religious group and people of any and all (or no) faiths are. This Memory Cafe operates under the auspices of the Greater Dallas Alzheimer's Association. The purpose is very simply to provide a place and time for people living with the disease where they can be themselves, share some laughter and light refreshments, and learn from others in similar circumstances.
